Anubhav celebrates Rakshabandhan


Rakshabandhan in Sanskrit literally  means ‘the tie or knot of protection’.It is an ancient Hindu festival that celebrates the love and duty between brother and sister.  Children at Anubhav  celebrated 'rakhi ' on Friday 4th August 2017.The children came beautifully  dressed in traditional Indian attire. Earlier, during the week the children had made Vedic  rakhis --constituting of rice, haldi, durva and sarson. The girls tied these on the wrists of the boys, applied ' tilak ' and fed each other sweets. We all had a wonderful time dancing and singing to the rhythm of folk music.

Every year Anubhav re-iterates the philosophy behind the festival of rakhi – we strengthen our bonds of love……
